Spring break, minus the margaritas and the beach

Right now, we're in the middle of Martin's spring break.  We played inside and outside.  We watched movies, played countless hours of Wii, and went to the library twice.  And that brought us to day two of the break.  It was right around that time that I began to wonder just what we'd do for the entire eleven day stretch.  I started lining up the activities, and we've been busy.  The busier, the better.

We've played a whole lot of babies.  I'm glad to say that Sophie's baby Twenty has graduated to solid food.  Here's Sophie cutting up apples for Twenty.

Luckily for us, Martin received a great book from my parents for his birthday with 365 ideas for things to do.  Right away, Martin settled on the idea of creating robots.  We collected shiny items from around the house, copied them, and cut them out.  We cut pictures out of magazines, and collected small shiny things that could be glued onto the page.  They turned out pretty cool.  Here's Martin's robot - he started to give his robot a "wiener" (his phrase, not mine), and I told him that I didn't think it was a good idea.  The next time I looked down, I noticed an addition - which Martin told me was a "third leg".  Uh huh.

Sophie's robot takes on a more free-flowing form, connected by now clear pools of glue.

We had a sleepover in the living room.  The kids thought it was awesome.  To me, it was so awesome that my back reminded me of the experience all day.  And into the next.

We made some mozzarella.  It was okay, and I'm glad we tried it, but I have a long way to go until it's GREAT.  And since its one of my favorite things, I'm hoping that I get really good at making it.

Then, we had a blizzard.  And the timing was perfect because the kids were hanging out at my parents.  There's not a better place to be to have some winter fun.

Even a blizzard doesn't keep Sophie from swinging.

We only have a few days left until the break is over.  I'm hoping to keep the kids from fighting and kicking each other long enough to do some ice skating, play outside, and have some fun.  And if not, maybe I'll just send them outside to kick and fight out of hearing range.

Your such a great mom always thinking of creative activities for your kids. Looks like a lot of fun. PS Sophie and Reina have the same pink boots. Reina loves them and would wear them all day long both inside and out if I let her.
