I love to eat turkey

Today I'm thankful for family and friends.  I'm thankful for the large number of crockpots I have plugged in that will allow us to eat the food I cooked up yesterday while still keeping my ovens open for important things - like twenty-four servings of stuffing even though there will only be twelve of us.  I'm thankful that although he asked if I would cook the squirrel he shot yesterday, I think Martin will forget about it until at least tomorrow.

I'm thankful that we probably won't have any Pilgrims stopping by today, because Sophie told me that if they do, they are going to be sleeping in my closet.  I'm thankful that I found Madeira wine at the liquor store, even though the guy working there didn't think they carried that model.  I'm thankful that we received our first Christmas card, eve;n though it's not officially the season (according to me) - it's okay because it was from a jeweler who wrote that it was time for "fruitcake" and I wondered how she knew my family would be coming over today.

And I'm thankful that my brother and I have adopted a new Mitchell Family Motto (Fourth Quarter, 2008):
Thanksgiving - Not a good day to be my pants.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Have a wonderful day! Found this quote that I thought was perfect - As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.

Kathy, I read your quote. You are much to philosophical for the Holidays.
Jennie, Martin may have forgotten about his simple request of adding squirrel to the Thanksgiving meal, but I didn't forget. I guess the little lad chalked it up to another one of life's disappointment.
Nice picture of you and Grandpa Mitchell. He would be proud of you, at least until he heard about the squirrel.
