It's been awhile since I've posted here, probably just before my laptop started acting up.  And by acting up, I mean refusing to work properly.  At the first sign of problems I rushed it to the IT department, hanging out on the couch downstairs.  He shook his head and handed me an external drive to back up my files.  I followed instructions, all the while thinking wistfully of my previous laptop who I'd started to think of as "Ol' Reliable".  Except for that whole overheating thing.

Anyway, with the files backed up I ran it to the IT department back at the office.  After much back and forth and two loaner laptops later, I'm sitting here on loaner three with still no report on when I can get my regular laptop back.  So, when I started getting messages like "are you alright?" and "come back and write more" I figured I better put something on here.  My thought process went something like this:

1. I know, I'll download the photos I have on the camera to the external drive.  Dang, I don't have any photo editing software.  Well, I have Paint, but that doesn't really count, does it?
2. I'll browse out to the network and get something from the archives.  Maybe a back-to-school reflection on fashion.  Shoot, not connected to the network.
3. Fine, I'll just order that loose powder and lipstick from Bobbi Brown.  Okay, well I can order but I can't print the receipt.  Not until the printer is installed anyway.

Now I think I'll just wait until the Basement part of our IT division is awake and do some sweet talking to see if he can get everything installed and get me all squared away again.  And with that single sentence, I've just confirmed the geek level at our house, haven't I?
