The newest member of our family

Martin really wants me to have another baby.  Specifically, he wants a brother.  Its been a popular topic lately, all the things he'd like to do with a little brother, about how he'd help me a lot, and how the baby MUST be a boy.  I've explained that we probably won't be having another baby, that the two kids in our family bring so much fun and energy into our home that it's full now.  He's not convinced, and this weekend, he decided to take matters into his own hands.  Armed with paper, scissors, tape and a pencil, he created his own brother.  And named him Paper Buddy.

He hangs out with us and sits between Martin and Sophie in the car.  And today, Paper Buddy came with me to work.  I asked Martin if it was "Take Your Paper Buddy to Work Day" and he gave me a look of extreme disapproval and said that Paper Buddy was part of our family now, as if I just had to accept it.

They look a bit alike, don't you think?  That's genetics for you.

This is more for your previous post on cupcakes - but when I was in the Peace Corps, I had a kick-ass recipe for chocolate cake that used vinegar and baking soda to get it poofy. It was egg-less and milk-less. Is this sort of what you've been working with? Are you interested? Do you think I'm a freak yet? ; )
