An open letter to Mother Nature
Dear Mother Nature:
Hey there. Do you remember back in 1992 when you thought it would be a really good idea to throw down a little snow on the last Saturday in April. Here I was on that day.

What's that you say? Not even a force of nature could move hair held in place with that much hair spray? And where's my coat if I'm so cold? Right. It was PROM. Snow or no snow, I couldn't just throw a JACKET over my dress. Now my date's jacket, that would be a different story.
And then, in 2002 when it was so super nice and sunny and warm for like two months and then on the last Saturday in April you dropped a blizzard on us? Here I was on that day.

What's that? Again with the big hair? Yes, I know. It's just my way of saying "fancy". I know you can't really see the snow in this photo but I assure you it was just starting to really come down. To further illustrate my point, here's a picture of my friends Megan and Meghan from later in the night, sparkly from the wine and fresh snowflakes in their hair.

So I guess it shouldn't be that big of a surprise that we had snow and blizzardy winds over the weekend. This is what it looked like outside my window Saturday morning. In the kids' swimming pool.

From one mother to another, I feel like I should tell you that I think you're not being a very good listener. I've already told you that I've had enough of winter and that I was done with snow. And last week when I was a smarty and said I was going to put away our boots I DIDN'T because I sort of DIDN'T BELIEVE YOU.
I guess it could be worse. I could live near Ryan and Carrie where they got A LOT of snow. Here was the view from their window on Friday when 14" of fresh snow whipped into their yard.

I really wasn't going to say anything and just hope that you were done with your wintery fun here, but this afternoon someone came by my office and said that they heard there's a chance of snow this weekend. I think I said something like "SHUT UP!" in that really mature junior high kind of way. I guess what I'm trying to say is no more snow. For real.
Sincerely,
Jennie
