My standards are low. Really, really low.

I feel like I'm super behind in popular culture awareness these days.  I get all of my fashion news from these girls and from watching Project Runway.  The last song I downloaded from iTunes was Coconut by Harry Nilsson and that was made the year before I was born.  I have no idea what is on prime time TV, because if it's on at night and it's not SpongeBob SquarePants, then I don't see it.

And it really could be worse.  SpongeBob can actually be kind of funny.  Sure, it's mostly kid humor, but once in awhile it cracks me up.  For example, here is some dialog from an episode we watched the other night:

Mr. Krabs: I think there's something wrong with you after all. I think you should see a professional.
SpongeBob: Wrestler?

And it made me laugh out loud.  Sure, no one else in the room laughed.  And yes, it probably says more about my state of mind than I care to admit.  But really, that's funny.

Maybe this is where Martin gets his obsession with wearing neckties.  Better than my fear that he's going to ask to join the Young Republican, I guess.

[Note: Yes, I know, not ALL Young Republicans wear neckties.  This just strengthens my point that I'm behind popular culture when my reference goes all the way back to Family Ties.]
