For my husband and my father
My car has never been a place of neatness. Before I was married, it was always filled with loot (the actual contents hardly matter) and it made my dad CRAZY. "Gawd! This is a DUMP!" he'd say whenever he saw my car. In fact, the only real negotiating I did when I purchase my first car was to make the salesman promise to help me unload the trunk of my trade-in and carry it over to the new car. When I told Marty this story, the look on his face said "I already proposed, now what do I do?"
Now that I'm married and have kids, my car is still filled with loot (actual contents still don't matter) and it makes my dad AND husband CRAZY. I try to clean it out before I know either of them are going to get into it, I vacuum it occasionally and take it to the car wash regularly. I don't allow milk in the car and I try to carry in the contents each day. It is far (FAR) from perfection, but it is a huge improvement for me.
My friend Becca sent me a link to a video over the weekend that made me feel a whole lot better. Enjoy.
