It's been one week

It's been over a week now since Sevda's wedding, and I haven't yet added any photos or stories.  Sure, it's been busy, but I've also realized that I'm having a hard time deciding what to write, which photos to share.  I want it to be something special.  Sevda's a journaler and she documents everything, so I know that whatever I add here will likely end up as part of her record of the time.  I can't just say "oh, it was so fun" even though it was.  And I can't just add all the photos because between me, mom and Kathy we probably have close to 300.  THREE HUNDRED.

Plus, she's just so good at doing these kinds of things for me.  When I was engaged, she started a journal for us to use to document the time as I prepared to be married.

She would write in it, adding little ideas and jokes for me.  I would write back to show her some of the ideas I had found too, so glad that we had a way to share these thoughts even though we didn't live in the same city.  A way that wasn't over the phone or through email.  A way that was lovely and archival and solid and tangible.

This is what she does, she thinks of the details and all the things that will make something special.  And that was just how her wedding was.  There were special dinners, luncheons, gift bags, tiny vases and hand-painted treasure boxes.  The love between Blake and Sevda was apparent.  The love Blake and Sevda's parents feel for their kids was obvious.  It was all so lovely and I would guess that everyone there felt much like I did - happy, lucky, proud.
