Just a little fresh air
This winter, long before it was swimsuit season, the kids wanted to wear their suits all the time. Every time I turned around they were taking off their clothes and donning their swimsuits, even though there was still snow on the ground. Now that it's summer, and it's actually hot enough to wear suits, they seem to have switched gears. Any time there is the promise of warm air and a swimming pool (or a sprinkler, or a hose, or a bucket of water), they can't be bothered with their suits. Or their clothes.

I've tried to explain that they should really just take the time to put their suits on, that the water or swing or sprinkler can wait for a few moments. Most of the time, I can get them to come inside for a few seconds to throw on a suit or a swim diaper. I chase them around the yard applying fresh coats of sunscreen, and so far, am thankful that the mosquitoes haven't been out.

Because it's summertime, and they're too small to be shy, and they just want to run and play and swim and jump and swing and can't be bothered with the details of being a grown up.

If my butt looked like that, I wouldn't wear clothes either!!

the wonderful freedom of childhood, wish it could last longer! Not that I would be on a swing in the nude at this age!
