All business

Yesterday when we were getting ready for the day, I asked Martin to pick out a few things to wear.  This is what he chose:

A dress shirt, corduroy pants, and a tie.  Not totally satisfied with this look, he asked for "a wedding coat".  It took me awhile to figure it out, but finally it dawned on me that he wanted a sport coat.  A SPORT COAT.  Because that's what every four year-old needs when he's faced with a relaxing day at home.  Also, it tells you how often we dress up around here that a sport coat is dragged out only when going to a wedding.

I told Martin that he didn't have a sport coat.  He told me to put it on the list - as in the grocery list.  Only slightly satisfied with his outfit despite the fact that he is so deprived that he doesn't even have a sport coat, he decided to add some pencils to his pocket and grabbed his notebook so that he could do some work.

Too busy to chat, he told me.  He had to make some calls and send email.
