Christmas 2006

Last year I didn't quite get around to making a Christmas CD.  So this year I started early and had the playlist set and downloaded in the first few days of December.  But now that Christmas is less than two weeks away and I've done practically nothing to prepare for the holiday (cards aren't done, the house isn't decorated, we don't yet have a tree, barely any gifts have been purchased and nothing is wrapped), I'm afraid that this year I won't make it to Christmas Mix production either.  This is particularly disappointing to me this year because I REALLY LOVE the songs I've selected.  So despite the fact that there won't be any Christmas Mix packages arriving in your mailbox this year, I've decided to put it at your fingertips and leave it in your hands.  If you're in the mood for a new mix this year, let me recommend the following:

Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord by I Can't Believe It's Not Boney M!
Christmas On Big Island by The Blue Hawaiians
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings by The Barenaked Ladies & Sarah McLachlan
The First Noel (Attaboy House Party Mix) by Bing Crosby
I Want a Rock n' Roll Guitar by Johnny Preston
Father Christmas by The Kinks
Last Christmas (Studio Version) by Jimmy Eat World
Baby, It's Cold Outside by Sammy Davis, Jr. and Carmen McRae
Jingle Bell Jamboree by Keb' Mo'
Christmas in Prison by John Prine
When Santa Comes to Santa Cruz by The Malibooz
The Christmas Wish by John Denver and The Muppets
The Angels Cried by Alan Jackson and Alison Krauss
Christmas Canon by Trans-Siberian Orchestra

And here is the official collectors edition CD cover in an easy to download and print version.

Maybe when the kids are older I will have more time to start up the Christmas package production again.  Like when they're old enough to help me and I can turn our basement into a sweatshop filled with Christmas cheer.

That BNL/Sarah M song is one of my Christmas favorites. I also recommend "Mary Did you Know," sung by Kenny Rogers, featuring Winona.
