Thanksgiving: The Greatest Hits

If you're anything like me, tonight you're cooking up a storm, setting out the "good" dishes, dusting everything off, and ironing tablecloths and napkins.  "How do you do this with two little kids around?" you say?  I'm not sure, but luckily for me I don't need to find out.  Today I am MOST THANKFUL for my mom and dad who graciously offered to take the kids to their house this afternoon and bring them back tomorrow just in time for dinner.  Really, is there a greater gift EVER?

So, tonight while I am sautéing, roasting, ice cream making, and prepping the house...I'm kicking back (as much as one can while doing those things) and listening to the Thanksgiving CD I made a few years ago.  Because every occasion deserves a soundtrack.  Here's what's on the turntable:

Tank Tu: 2004 (titled for the way it sounded when Martin said "thank you" way back in 2004)
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving by George Winston
Thank You by Dido
Thank You Louise by Ryan Adams
Thank U by Alanis Morrisette
November Rain by Guns N' Roses
Kind & Generous by Natalie Merchant
Thankful by Kelly Clarkson
Thank You by Sly & The Family Stone
Thanksgiving by Beatroots
Thank You by Vicki Evans
Thank You for the Music by The Original London Cast, Mamma Mia!
Thank God I'm a Country Boy by Tina and the B-Side Movement
Thanks a Lot by Johnny Cash
Turkey Leg Woman by Dr. Ross
The Thanksgiving Song by Adam Sandler

And to my mom and dad (who probably won't have one free moment to read this with my kids in their house), I can't even thank you enough.  For your kindness and generosity I promise to reward you with a delicious meal and my undying gratitude.

You are right about not having a minute to read this and as a matter of fact, I closed up my computer so no little gremlins would get their hands on it! But...it was worth the wonderful dinner. Now we are wishing we would have said yes to bringing home leftovers! Thanks Jen and Marty for entertaining us.
