Alien sighting
My friend Kathy sent me a link to an article today about an alleged alien sighting in North Dakota. According to the article, a teenage boy spotted an alien trying to grab one of the hogs from their farm. As crazy as the article sounds, I have no choice but to believe the boy.
One night when I was growing up my mom and brother and I were watching TV at our cabin. Suddenly, they both sat up and looked out the window, saying "did you see that?" I hadn't, apparently engrossed in whatever fascinating show we happened to be watching on our non-cable TV.
"Something just flew by" they said. Although the cabin (now mom and dad's house) is out in the country, the area next to that window includes lots of tall trees...not really the kind of place where something could just fly by. Something with lights. Could it have been an airplane? Not unless it crashed and no one noticed. Could it have been a car? It went by much too quickly. Obviously it had to be an UFO.
So, like the family in North Dakota we had no choice just to accept it. The dad in the article is quoted as saying that "he wouldn't be surprised if people feel the same [skeptical] about his story, but he said the family doesn't feel a need to prove anything and they've moved on." I guess our sensibilities must be pretty similar. UFO? It must have been. Oh well, what's on after the news?

I also thought about our UFO sighting when I heard about the North Dakota incident. No proof of our sighting...but we believe it happened. I will believe the ND incident "when pigs fly".
