Growing herbs in the basement
Marty bought me all the stuff I need to grow some herbs in the basement. Legal herbs, of course.
This is the best invention ever. All you have to do is place these little pods in the top, add water and select the type of herbs that you're growing. The aerogarden does everything else for you - it turns the lights off and on automatically, tells you when to add water, and lets you know when it's time to add more nutrients.
I planted these herbs about 2-1/2 weeks ago. Over the next few weeks I'll follow the instructions to trim the plants to optimize growth, raise the lights, and keep adding water. According to the instructions, it looks like in just a few more weeks I'll have a bumper crop of basil, dill, purple basil, cilantro, chives, mint and parsley.
This is the perfect kind of garden for me - no natural light needed, no dirt for the kids to dig in, very little maintenance and plants that grow quickly. Now I just need to find some special recipes to use what are probably the most expensive herbs on earth (again, the legal kind).

I NEED one of these! Should I send you Pat's e-mail for a Christmas gift idea?

That is awesome, can you tan under it also?
It makes me think of the kind of garden that WIlly Wonka would have, maybe you could get some miniature Oompa Loompas to come in work your herb pods!
