Presenting Mr. & Mrs. Van Hyfte
This weekend we went to Wisconsin for my friend Danielle's wedding. She lucked out and had the most beautiful weather, loads of people, and two days of fun. Here is Danielle and her new husband, Jeff. Danielle is the one holding the bouquet in a beer can cooler:

The kids were surprisingly well behaved throughout the whole weekend. They slept during most of the wedding (which was good, because it was 1-1/2 hour long Catholic wedding... which is probably payback for the 1-1/2 hour Catholic wedding I had), went back to the cabin to eat, then headed out for the reception. The kids LOVED the wedding dance and got in a few numbers before the bridal party arrived. Martin was the first one out on the dance floor, asking my friend Becca if she wanted to dance.

The bridal party was a little late in getting to the reception because they stopped to take pictures along the route between the church and the reception. They made one stop at a lake to get a picturesque photo with the whole wedding party on a dock, sunset in the background. Then, the dock broke. And the whole wedding party fell into waist-deep water. Including the bride (who took it surprisingly well).
It was great to see my friend get married, and wonderful to spend time with two good friends from Ruttger's - Jeff and Becca. I had a great time catching up with them, talking about how our lives have changed and retelling stories from our summer at Ruttger's (which was good because it turns out we all of fairly selective memories from that summer).

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Van Hyfte. May you have a long and happy life together. And may you send me the phonetic pronunciation of your new last name soon, or I'll have to just refer to you as Mr. and Mrs. Dinny for the rest of our lives.

The picture of Martin and Sophie is incredible. It looks like Sophie is telling him something - I would love to know what it was!

Look at those cute kids cuttin' a rug! Martin looks like a totally suave dance partner.

Are Martin's shoes on the wrong feet? I am pretty sure they are... I think that is what Sophie is saying "Hey, Martin! Check our your shoes! I'm telling!"

I had the same thought when I saw this photo. I'd say there's a good chance. He takes them off and puts them on constantly... not caring which shoe is on which foot. Some days he even wears his pants backwards. He's just that kind of guy.
