The Scene: Martin has been squirrelly all day, doing naughty things even knowing that I would give him a time out.  Taking toys from Sophie.  Time out.  Taking huge bites of food then spitting it on the floor.  Time out.  Washing his hair in the sink.  Washing his feet in the sink.  Taking off all his clothes and trying to take a bath in the sink.  Time out.

The Conversation:
Me: Martin, what do you think your dad would say about your behavior today?

Martin: Goddammit?

Not really the answer I was expecting.  I thought he'd say something like "he wouldn't be too happy" or "he would say stop it", but I think he was exactly right.  That's just what Marty would have said.
