Hide and go naked
These days, Martin likes to let us all know that he needs a little time alone. Some privacy. His favorite time of day to escape is during dinner, when everyone else is occupied and there's not a chance that anyone is going to seek out his company. I don't mind, mostly because it's a lot easier to feed one child than two, and he eats small meals all day long so I know he's getting enough to keep his busy body going. The only problem is that since I'm busy with dinner, it usually takes me awhile to realize that I haven't heard any noise from whatever room he's supposedly occupying.
This period of silence is never a good thing. In the past, it's meant that he's been doing something dangerous like stacking up the books in his room to build a ladder so he could reach a high shelf. Or he's broken off a child-proof lock by hitting it with my shoe and is actually in the garage. Or, he's moved furniture to reach a bottle of lotion and is sliding around the floor with his oh-so-soft and lubed-up body. But lately, it means he's somewhere in the house hiding. Naked.
Here's how I found him tonight:
I'm not sure how long he'd been in there. Although these aren't his normal traits, when he's hiding he is both patient and stealthy. And again, nude. Maybe I shouldn't really look for him during these times. If I leave him alone long enough, maybe he'll finally decide that going without diapers is a much better way to go. The nudity part will probably take care of itself. It will be fall soon and he's bound to get chilly.
