96

Today is my Grandma Mitchell's 96th birthday.  Look how cute she is in this picture with my cousin Mary, put together as always and wearing her beret:

Grandma will do just about anything, especially if my dad talks her into it.  I've seen her put on a biker's leather chaps and sit on his bike at a chili cookoff.  She'll go for walks, rides on the Ranger, and to college or high school basketball games.  When we were kids, she used to take us for hikes on "the rocks" along the Mississippi River.  She would make us root beer floats, and I even heard her burp once.  She would make us pizza when we'd come to her house as kids, even though we ate it on her good dishes.  And now that my kids are small, when they come visit, she lets them play with all her stuff and tells me not to worry about anything getting ruined.

As my Grandma would say, "A very happy birthday to you, my dear."  We love you Grandma.
