Miami Vice

Friday night Marty and I went to see a movie which is a big event in and of itself.  But, not only did we get out for a date, but the previews gave Marty something to really look forward to.  The release of Miami Vice, the movie.  It won't even matter if the movie is good, it will remind Marty of his glory days.

Just in case you don't remember, here's a shot of Don back in the day:

And here's Marty around the same time, in Florida with his brothers and grandparents.  He's the one in the full white suit and skinny tie.

It's important to note that despite the suit and tie, they weren't really going anywhere.  It's just that he was in Florida, so close to Don's turf, and wanted to fit in.  He probably planned on cruising around to pick up chicks, despite the fact that his grandparents lived in a retirement community.

I'm hoping that when the movie comes out, Marty will take this suit out of retirement (because chances are good he still has it packed away somewhere) so that he can wear it to the theater.  If not the whole suit, at least the tie and white shoes.

It's important to note that later that evening we went out to Rosie O'Grady's, a downtown Orlando establishment, known for its fasted paced environment. Anyway, that boy/man, which was a mear 17 at the time, was able to stride up to the bar and purchase cocktails all on his own. They knew, they knew that this was not just a sharp dressed MV man but a man on a mission. The mission was scrubbed when I turned around from the bar with a drink in my hand and walked right into Grandpa Buzz. Let's just say I was taken out of service much too early. Over.

Spelling errors are always forgiven. I'm just glad to see your comments.

Did you wear your shoes without socks like Don? Knowing you as I do, I have a hard time imagining that you would like the feel of hot feet inside shiny white dress shoes.

Yes I whore* socks. But you're right, me and my hoofs need protection. So I found these flesh toned, almost see through ones, they worked out pretty well. Except when we got back to the retirement community and my Grandma Harriette asked when I started to where nylons.

It will be interesting to see what "look" Martin picks at 17. I'm guessing it won't have anything to do with the transparent, flesh tone, nylon socks!
