Miracles and other Saturday events
UPDATED: 7:30 PM
For the first time ever, my kids slept in until almost 8:00 AM. This is nothing short of a miracle as far as I'm concerned. They've been way early risers forever, and I'm hoping that this is a sign of things to come. Since we're all going to be so well-rested, here's what's on the docket for today:
1. Plant seeds for herbs. DONE
2. Pull weeds. NOT DONE
3. Cut peonies. So far, we've cut 18 and there are probably 30-40 that need to be cut today. I'd guess that we'll end up with about 100-125 between the two plants we have. They smell so good. NOT DONE

4. Go for a long walk. DONE
5. Play at the park. DONE - TWICE
6. Make cantaloupe sorbet - the cantaloupe was free and turns out no one in my family likes it. So, might as well try the sorbet and see if we'll like it that way. DONE
7. Buy more nuks for Sophie because they've all gone into the pacifier black hole. DONE
8. Fill the pool and spend the afternoon in it. DONE
9. Naps, if we're lucky. NOT DONE

Jenny: it's probabaly too late for this, but did you know you can dry peonies? I guess if you're cutting 30-40 of them, you probably have something to do with them, right? Like hang them up in the garage to dry and use them later in some amazing project. I await the results.

It's not too late, there are probably another 30-40 that can still waiting to open. I think I'll dry those and see how they turn out. I dried a bunch last year, but they turned kind of a pinkish brown color. Any suggestions on how I can get the color to hold a little better would be welcome.
