The Shed

The other night, Marty mentioned that he was thinking that we should probably get a shed.  For those of you who saw The Shed at our old house, you are probably groaning.  Much like I was in my head when Marty mentioned it.  The Shed at our old house was basically Part II of our house.  It was equipped with a stereo, cable TV, was set up with CAT 5 cable so that it would be Internet ready, had an epoxy floor, a pine ceiling and a powerful air conditioner.  Not to mention the workbench, elaborate shelving system, and The Tools.  Oh yes, and an attached kennel with a cement floor for our old dog, Lucy.  The Shed was probably the most difficult thing for Marty to leave behind when we moved to our current house.  I can't even admit how much The Shed actually cost.  Here's a shot of The Shed when it was almost finished:

I like to think that I am open to new ideas and am a good listener when someone tells me about something they'd like to do.  So, when Marty said that he was ready for another shed, instead of shouting "NO" at the top of my lungs, I simply said "Why don't you figure out exactly what you want and tell me exactly how much it will cost.  And where it will go.  I don't want it to block our view."

What I can tell you is that while we may get A shed, we won't be installing a replica of The Shed.  Unless bags of money drop from the sky and a handyman appears at our doorstep ready to work for free.  Then I'd think about it.

I think it would be great if Marty got a new shed. How else can Martin learn about sheds.
This time we will use the services of the shed man. You simply define the size, select the needed options, have built and delivered. Its wonderful.
I personally belong to sheds anonymous and participate in adopt a shed. It's a program that allows someone without a yard to store his shed at your place. With visitation rights its almost as good as having it in your own yard.

I love the idea of adopt-a-shed. We'd like to adopt space in the shed in your yard. Expect to find various items from our house in your shed in the near future.
