Easter eggs and other surprises
We had a busy weekend. Saturday morning, Hurricanes Martin and Sophie whipped through our house as I was trying to finish laundry, pack and bake desserts for Easter. After several hours of complete chaos, I just threw a few things in the car, loaded up the kids, and put a movie in the DVD player in the car. Of course, that meant that the house was still in total chaos, but none of us could last any longer. We went to my mom and dad's, which is means a weekend outside, good food and company, and a lot of fun for the kids.
Here are some of the highlights:

We went for a boat ride and Martin got to drive. Mostly in circles.

We fed the chickens some bread that my mom had been saving. Martin ate mouthfuls before we even got to the chickens, despite the fact that he "was so full" at lunch just minutes earlier.

We had an Easter egg hunt. Sophie spotted a few and figured out how to get to the jelly bean inside in no time flat. Martin saw the eggs, whipped them open, ate the jelly bean and tossed it aside.

Here are my mom and Sophie taking a break from the egg hunt.

Martin tried out the new swing. Ryan and Carrie tried it too, but I didn't... afraid of breaking the branch, falling down the hill and having to be rushed to the emergency room. I'm not called "Grace" for nothing.

We played on the neighbor's trampoline. Martin and Sophie both loved it, and Ryan and Carrie were both good sports to take them on it so many times. I only went on it once, and stopped after I did involuntary donkey kicks as Ryan jumped, causing my mom to go into hysterics. In fact, she laughed about it several times over the weekend just thinking about it.

We went for lots and lots of walks.

Sophie got all dressed up and actually stayed in it for most of the day (Sevda, this is the cutest outfit - thanks for sending it).
All in all, it was a very good weekend. We were all exhausted at the end of the day and sleep couldn't come fast enough (mostly for me).
