Keeping up with (everyone but) The Joneses

Ever wonder, "Where is everybody"?  Me too.  There are a handful of people I follow through their blogs or websites.  On one hand, keeping tabs on someone's life in this way seems a little voyeuristic.  But, on the other hand, sites like these can help people to keep in touch and feel connected.  I think the latter outweighs the former.  Plus, they're entertaining and inspirational.  It's like having everyone together except much quieter and I don't even have to brush my hair.

I Wish I Were A McInerny
My first visit to my friend Meghan's parents house was more than I had expected.  There were lots of people, everyone was talking (at the same time, all different conversations), dogs barking, food being made, TV on, and projects in progress.  It was the big family chaos that was the opposite of the house I grew up in.  And, it was so fun.  Whether you know the McInernys or not, you can throw yourself into their lives.  Beware, they are all creative as well as terrific writers - their blogs are addictive.

The Buckles Family
A few years ago, my friend Melissa (Ellens) Buckles and her husband found out that they were having conjoined twins.  Since then, their children have gone through surgeries, have had some complications, made terrific strides, and have had lots of unique experiences.  Read about their family and follow their progress - I guarantee you'll think "how can she do all of this AND keep up a website".  Who knows... but you'll be glad she does.

Minnesota Bucks
Although I'm not a deer hunter (and never plan to be), my friend from growing up, Mike Lindquist has put together a nice site on the subject.  Any site where the guys featured give each other nicknames like Barnaby, Crockett and Chieftain is worth reading to me.  Plus, if you went to high school with me, you'll want to check out the pictures and see who you can recognize.

Waitress Dreams
The first time I met Meghan's friend, mopsa, was at Meghan's bridal shower.  Even though we didn't know each other, we cracked jokes and made smart-mouthed comments all afternoon.  I figured, if she's a friend of Meghan's, then she's a woman worth knowing.  It turns out she is also a really wonderful writer and a creative woman.  Plus, she is dang funny.

Marty's Cars
My father-in-law, Marty Sr. is a collector of classic cars.  If you're a car enthusiast, you'll probably like this collection.  If you're not a car enthusiast, then just check out the cute picture of Marty Sr, Jr. and III on the home page.

Have I missed anyone?  Not like this is some kind of crazy internet pyramid scheme or anything... just sharing the wealth, you know.
